Maybe you remember me.
I was the kid who was constantly doodling in
class. By the time I finished high school in
1983, I had won several art awards.
I am a self-taught artist. My goal in my portraits
is to achieve what I like to call 'painterly realism.' - to achieve a likeness of the subject, but to retain the look of hand-created
artwork. I paint with pencil and erasers
instead of toxic paints and thinners! I just love the non-toxic and portable nature of drawing.
Although I have loved to draw my entire life, it was 8 years ago that I really decided that being
a portrait artist was what I wanted to do. I love all kinds of art, but I naturally lean toward doing pencil portraits of
people and pets.
I believe my clients have discerning taste and prefer portrait drawings that are lovingly created by hand by one person
to something that drawn by an anonymous person in a group shop, where they may consider your valued portrait as just a unit
of sale. I would like to build a relationship of personalized service to my clients. The quality of portraiture is extremely
important to me, as well as the service I provide.
Please let me know if I can help you with anything - If you have a project, picture
or an idea that you would like drawn that you don't see on my website, or would like a price quote, please feel free to get
in touch with me by email, my contact form, or by phone at 770-736-1584 in metro Atlanta or Toll Free at 1-888-736-0617 if you live outside Atlanta. I have done pencil
portrait commissions for clients worldwide, so your location isn't a barrier.
My drawing techniques and skills are always
changing in order to continue to improve, but If you would like to see a general overview how my portraits
are usually created, see my Featured Portrait page.
I have been married for nearly 23 years, and
we have four children - fraternal twin daughters age 14, and little boys ages 2 and 4.
Thanks again for visiting and I look forward
to hearing from you soon!
